The advent of the Czech jute and hemp industry is marked by the year 1895, when several new jute manufacturing companies associated into an organization in Vienna. As result of a crisis in the linen industry, jute fiber processing started to replace the more expensive hemp and linen products.
The brand JUTA was founded in 1946 and has since become one of the world’s most renowned producers of technical fibers and synthetic products. Headquartered in Dvůr Králové nad Labem, it employs over 2300 people in 17 modern production plants.
